Drake, maybe more than any other Robin before him, typified the interaction between Batman and Robin. Drake stepped up to the plate and assumed the position of Robin while Todd was away, which assisted in preventing Batman from falling into an excessively depressed state later on, Todd would be resurrected as the violent antihero Red Hood (who is slightly less violent in Gotham Knights owing to twin guns full of rubber bullets). Tim Drake became the new Robin in the canon when the Joker was responsible for the death of Jason Todd, who had previously held the role. ![]() Gotham Knights narrative director Ann Lemay said in an interview with GameSpot that “There were a lot of reasons-from a lot of departments-for Tim.” To give just one illustration from the comics, “one of the ones that I particularly can point to is one of the things that we wanted to explore with Tim,” which is the idea that “he formed his whole identity as Robin every Batman needs a Robin.” This was one of the things that we wanted to explore with Tim. What exactly is going on with Drake though? Why not choose Damian Wayne or Stephanie Brown, who was once known as Spoiler and later became Batgirl? Tim Drake, who now portrays Robin in Gotham Knights, is the third actor to take up the character since it was created.
